We will cover everything from budget to traveling, location, hotels, and pricing – Everything you need to make an easy decision before you book your next travel! After this article, all you will need to do is book your stay, because everything will be laid out for you! Are you ready for a family trip to Phu Quoc? Then let’s get to it!

Travel-How to reach Phu Quoc easily?

Usually, when people travel to Phu Quoc, they are already in the country. Since Vietnam is not a place where you go and visit one area, we will assume that you have arrived in either Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, before traveling to the South of the country.

We also have a killer guide about what to do in Hanoi, when you are visiting only for a few days. Don’t forget to have a look at it, if that’s the place you will arrive first!

So given that you are already in the country, let’s have a look at our options. First of all, you need a Visa to enter Vietnam, however, you can travel to Phu Quoc without one. Regardless, make sure you have your visa with you, in case somebody would like to have a look at it.

We can choose from 4 options when we want to travel around the country with an airplane. All of them are for different budgets, but what is good about Vietnam, if you are coming from the U.S or EU, is that it is almost 100% sure it will be cheaper to do anything, than in your home country.

Given that, let’s list the 4 domestic airlines, that operate in Phu Quoc and can help you reach your destination.

  1. Vietnam Airlines:

They are the premium version of traveling in Vietnam, which comes with the highest price tag. They fly from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang, which are usually the starting points for such trips.

We paid around $270 per person for a turnaround ticket with 2 check-in bags, 2 hand luggage, and 2 backpacks. Our starting point was Hanoi and the flight took about 2.5 hours from Hanoi to Phu Quoc Airport.

The airplane was quite comfortable, they served you around 3 times during the flight – a light meal, hot drink, and bubba tea, which is quite good for such a short flight.

  1. VietJet Air:

This can be your favorite if you are traveling on a budget but still want to make it to certain destinations. They have several daily flights to Phu Quoc from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City as well.

We chose Vietnam Airlines because of our luggage situation since we were traveling around the country for weeks, plus we had a wedding to attend, so we had a lot to carry around with us.

We also have a Travel Essential Guide for Vietnam if you are wondering what you must take and what you should leave home without even thinking about it.

A new airline with a catchy name and good service. Price-wise it is somewhere in the middle. Their flights usually operate from Da Nang and Hanoi to Phu Quoc.

It’s a good thing to have 4 different options for flights, so everyone can find what is the best for them in terms of budget and luggage. If you wish to have more comfort and more luggage, we suggest Vietnam Airlines, as it is a comfortable experience, and you will have an easier time traveling around, should you have more packages.

Now let’s get to the juicy part and talk about the best family hotels in Vietnam, specifically Phu Quoc! We spent a week there and during our time we realized how child-friendly the island is, which inspired us to write this article and dive deeper into the options families can have.

A few things to know about Phu Quoc before your visit:

Phu Quoc is the largest island in Vietnam with stunning white beaches, clear waters, and vibrant marine life. It is the perfect place, if you want to get away from the business of Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, and you want to enjoy some time relax, and recharge.

Phu Quoc is also a place, where you can have Visa-free entry for 30 days – Which is the country’s way of trying to grow tourism in the area. Given the amount of development around the island, it’s been working so far.

It’s a beautiful destination, where you have the chance to enjoy the beautiful beaches, snorkeling, traditional food, and even more beautiful sunsets with your family.

Now let’s talk about the best family hotels in Vietnam in Phu Quoc Island:

  1. Vinpearl Resort & Spa Phu Quoc:

This beautiful resort is located by Bai Dai Beach and offers a variety of family-friendly activities within its resort. They have different room varieties available for families.

Prices around the season in November for a family of 4 start around $200/night, including breakfast, WiFi, children’s playground, kid’s club, room service, and many more.

They also have a large swimming pool and a beachfront, which is available for the guests of the resort as well. Waterparks, Canoeing, golf courses, and Tennis courts are also available for an extra fee.

The resort is in a nice condition with lots of facilities around, which can make your stay lovely and it has also been voted as one of the best family hotels in Vietnam.

Our rating based on price, facilities, and overall look and feel is 8/10.

  1. Intercontinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort:

This hotel is fairly new and is also in excellent condition, located in the Phu Quoc Marina. We recently visited this hotel, where we had the chance to spend one amazing week. This hotel is the perfect choice with and without kids since there are so many facilities and opportunities, that even if you want to relax without the noise of children – or drinking adults you can do it at ease.

The hotel is clean and your booking usually provides free WiFi, cleaning, breakfast, and hotel activities for both adults and children (A big plus, since you could book a full day for almost every day included in your stay). They also have an indoor children’s room with assistance, as well as a playground on top of the daily programs for kids.

Some of the adult activities, such as the cooking class are also easily doable with children, which we loved experiencing during our stay. We tried the cooking class, where we learned how to make spring rolls. Not the most complicated dish, but fun for anyone, who loves to eat and is not afraid to work with their hands.

The rooms start around $1050/night for 4 people, which puts this experience into a very luxurious category. However, you truly get what you pay for with excellent service, that’s really worth it if it’s within your budget. It is important to note that as an IHG member (which costs $0 to you) you can get 20% off any purchases you make there – food, spa, water activities.

Based on location experience and price this hotel is 10/10, given that they truly give you what you pay for. If you want to indulge with your family and experience the ultimate luxury in Vietnam, this is the place you should book.

You can find more information about booking at the Intercontinental Hotel and what the price includes on this page.

  1. Novotel Phu Quoc Resort:

Novotel Hotel Phu Quoc is also a beachfront hotel with 2 swimming pools and many water activities. Some of them are free of charge, and some of them, such as canoeing and snorkeling, come with an extra fee.

The hotel looks quite nice, which is expected from Novotel, as it is a premium chain. You have your basics, such as WiFi, breakfast, and maintenance covered in your booking. Just like Intercontinental, they also have indoor and outdoor facilities for children on top of the pools and the beach, which can make entertaining them quite easy.

However, they don’t have airport pick up and drop off in the price, only the shuttle, which is a minus, given that the other two hotels have it within the booking. The room and the hotel look spacious, however, it might be worth giving them a message before booking, as their booking.com page is not as clear as Intercontinental or Vinpearl.

Best Family Hotels in Vietnam 7

You can book your stay there for 4 people starting at $210/night, which is a really good price for a 5-star hotel.

Overall, based on location, price, and look and feel, we would rate this hotel 8/10.

You can find more information about booking at the Novotel Hotel and what the price includes on this page.

  1. Sol Beach House Phu Quoc by Melia:

Sol Beach House is also another beautiful, waterfront location with a luxury hotel experience in Phu Quoc. No wonder it is 4th among the best family hotels in Vietnam and for a reason.

The resort itself is beautiful with modern rooms and various activities for both adults and children. They also include a kid’s club and a large lake-style pool within your booking with various restaurants. As always, room service and WiFi is included in the price.

Your starting price to book a room for 4 people is $288,04/night. If you book directly on their page, you will get free airport transportation, 20% in their restaurant, and 20% in the spa, which is a great deal. It might be worth booking on their website to get these benefits.

With the price, benefits and overall look and feel we would rate this hotel 7/10.

  1. Pullman Phu Quoc Beach Resort:

Another 5-star experience with a beachfront and a massive, beautiful pool within the premises, which on its own provides a lot of activities already. The rooms are nice-looking and clean with a fairly modern design.

You get WiFi, breakfast, a kid’s club, board games, a beach, a kid’s pool, indoor play area, and many more within the hotel, which makes it really easy to enjoy with children. The greatest thing about these hotels is that they are quite large, so you can have some privacy on top of entertaining your family.

They mention specifically their wheelchair accessibility on their booking.com page, which I believe is a huge plus, since they make it easier for anyone, who’d need this function to book easily, without having to communicate further with the hotel to see whether they can be comfortable or not.

You can book your stay for 4 people at a starting price of $327/night, which puts them in the middle in terms of pricing.

Given the facilities, price, and overall look and feel, we would rate this hotel 9/10.
